A date in an ERP system can mean a deposit, shipment, installation, acceptance or administrative closure. Those events answer different questions. A model trained on the wrong event can be precise about something the planner did not ask.
My contribution
I investigated lead-time prediction and planning support using Ridder iQ records. The study connects data analysis to the operational question: what needs to be predicted, from which starting point, and what evidence would make that prediction useful to the planning team?
Present status
A feasibility report has been prepared and submitted for methodological review. Validation on representative operational events and a proof of value remain open. The study does not establish a deployed planning system or a guaranteed delivery forecast.
